Abstract:
Research on the economic conditions of post conversion into fishponds and mangrove forests in the District Pangkajene Islands (Pangkep) South Sulawesi Province was held in the District Mandalle, Segeri and Labakkang from August to September 2011.
This study aims to assess the economic conditions after the conversion of mangroves into fishponds in the District Mandalle, Segeri, and Labakkang Pangkep District of South Sulawesi province. This study uses survey and interview. The results showed that in the District Labakkang, Segeri and Labakkang have a total value of economic benefits of mangrove Rp.14.844.084 / ha / year or about 1.6 times greater when compared to the economic value of the ponds which Rp.9.401.170 / ha / yr. Land cultivated ponds can provide financial benefits per hectare of Rp. 42.122.500 with a Payback Period of 0.75 years. Month community income is above Rp. 1.000.000 by 43 people (45.26%) or equal to the minimum wage South Sulawesi of Rp. 1.000.000 / month.
