Radicalism in education recently has often been in a sharp spotlight. Education which should have produced intelligent and characterized human beings, in fact, has made the seeds of terrorism. A finding of a survey indicates that college students have sympathy for the acts of violence in the name of religion. This reality should be considered for evaluation. The values of moderation which become the basic character of every religion are an effective and efficient means to ward off this phenomenon. This study is qualitative research using participatory observation, documentation, and interviews for data collection to analyze the implementation of UNTAN Rector Decree No. 1540 / UN22 / DT / 2012 on the integrated model for character education in religion subject. This research found that the integrated character education in religion subject through the moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action approaches in learning is quite effective in providing direct learning experiences (Experiential Learning) in the implementation of moderation values such as tolerance, exclusivity, cooperation, and democracy. |
