Abstract

The nature of the fishing industry open access has raised the issue of catching more (over fishing), this is because the use of uncontrolled fishing. To keep the resource to be exploited continually need to take stock of fish is being targeted for arrest.The purpose of research is to investigate the potential of sustainable snapper model calculations using surplus production. Potential sustainable snapper in waters Sambas is at 1,538,721 kg/year with optimum effort of 21,085 trips/year, with utilization rate of 50.84% with allowable catch (JTB) amounted to 1,230,977 kg/year.
