This study describes problems of Arabic instruction for university students of Islamic
Education Departement whose educational background was either general or vocational
high school level (SMA/SMK), and attempts which had been taken by the faculties to
overcoming the said problems. Population of the research was all second semester
students of Islamic Education Departement of FTIK IAIN Palu. This study was a field
research, in which data were collected through observation, interview, surveys, and
document review.
Results of the study showed that in general the Arabic Instruction was not going well
for students whose background was either general or vocational high school level
(SMA/SMK).
That they had less learning motivation or interest. Thus, among the attemps of the
faculties to motivate the students were by providing them with facilitative learning
media, instructional methods, extra-curricular activities, and extending learning hours. |
